Structure of spray nozzle

Structure of spray nozzle

This page shows a structure of spray nozzle. We have had various structural revises based on our know-hows cultivated over many years.

Hydraulic nozzle (flat and straight)

There is only one fluid flow passage in standard spray nozzles. Liquid is sprayed from a nozzle orifice going through the inside from the liquid inlet. The flow passage and orifice shape can be customized, depending on flow rate and spray angle specifications.

Hydraulic nozzle (full-cone and hollow-cone)

The nozzle structure is same as the one in flat and straight pattern nozzles except an insert core installed inside the nozzle. The insert core revolves the fluid, which can create full-cone or hollow-cone type spray.

Hydraulic nozzle Return type

Available spray flow rate range (turndown) is smaller in hydraulic nozzles since the hydraulic nozzle flow rate generally increase proportionally to square root of pressure. However, the circulation type nozzle can provide a wider turndown by restricting a return pressure.

As the above picture shows, the nozzle structure is a dual pipe type, and there are an inlet for water supply and an outlet for the return. The turndown ratio can increase to 10: 1, compared with a standard hydraulic nozzle turndown ratio 3:1.

Inner structure of two-fluid nozzle

Two-fluid nozzle is a spray nozzle which sprays some mixed fluid with some air. There are an internal mixing type and an external mixing one available. Some liquid is mixed with some air inside the nozzle. We have small flow rate type to big rate one available.

Two-fluid nozzle which is external mixing

There are two method to mix liquid and air.
By pressure: Spray liquid by pump or pressurized tank
Siphon: Spray liquid by air vacuum effect
